COMPLAINT : Refusing To Repair AC During Heat Advisory Warning
Fair Resolution according to renter :
  1. 1) Full Refund Of $1500 Security Deposit
  2. Full refund of rent paid during summer months of 2020 and 2021
  3. 1) Full refund of $1500 deposit, and rental payments made during 2020 and 2021 summer months for failing to respond/repair any issue made during entire 3 year tenancy.

COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

We initially reported an AC unit that was not functioning properly back in June 2020. Model name and number of the AC was provided in initial complaint. Repairmen showed up to view the outside unit but never came in the house. My first complaint was closed without acceptable resolution. I reported the issue again on August 11th, 2021; we were promised an appt by Eric Dewitt(maintenance rep) on 8/13, between the hours of 1 and 5. No one ever showed up. The issue is that the AC only operates for 3-5 hours, then shuts off. The AC does not turn on until after 530pm. I have been working from home since March 2020, and have had to sit in an apartment that is just as hot, if not hotter, than the 90-plus temperature outside. I have tried all avenues to keep the apartment cool without AC but to of no avail. I am unable to reset the breaker on the AC unit itself as I cannot physically reach it. There is a current heat advisory in this area, and the landlord was notified of this. We did not have this issue with the AC until Atlantic Soethby took over the building. Landlord has had since June 2020 to properly repair AC.
