I contracted bed bugs upon move-in and the women in the front office said that the complex would cover the fees when I spoke to them in person prior to being barred from the pool, gym, and front office for a month while the bugs were being taken care of. I could not speak with anyone in person per their request for me not to enter the main office but I do have emails saying they would cover the treatment and inspection however the office manager increased my rent by the $386 this month, which I did not pay on top of my rent because I have these emails that say they will cover the treatment from my understanding. Living here has not been luxurious in any way and they office did not notify anyone in the unit surrounding mine that I had the bugs during anytime the treatment was going on. The lease does say that the renter may or may not be liable but I was not notified that I would have to be paying for any of this up front and I did not sign for anyone to enter my apartment to begin the treatment in the first place.
