COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

We inspected the house while room fresheners were being used. Then signed lease. We went to move in and the house had overpowering smell of urine. The landlord allowed us to remove carpet in bedroom but the smell persists. We used odor eliminator and primed damaged areas with KILZ. Odor still persists. All sub flooring needs replaced to stop odor as recommended by contractors I have talked to. Other issues include, kitchen sink faucet handles stripped and leak. During heavy rain, garage floods with about 6 inches of rain water which flows into basement storage. The complaints started with the urine smell 2 months ago and have not been resolved as of this writing. We have pictures to prove all of this. We would rather be allowed to break the lease and find another property to rent than have the problem fixed because in trying to resolve problem we have been met with a violent personality, character assassination, and bullying. We feel the relationship between landlord and tenant has been damaged beyond repair.

Renter Oct 30, 2014 199.195.52.44 1.Landlord called and said he is concerned about the condition of his property and wants to inspect. He asked for a time he could come over and I told him Sunday anytime would work. I have contacted law enforcement to be present but they will only have an officer in the area, in case problems arise we are to walk away and dial 911. This is most likely a bulling tactic. We have only been here 2 months and the landlord was just here a couple of weeks ago and looked at the house. He even said that I did a good job on the flooring I installed in the spare bedroom that I was not paid labor for. Again all we want is out of the lease and to live in peace.

Renter Oct 28, 2014 199.195.52.44 1.10/28/2014 Landlord left message to come over to fix faucet. I returned call about 7:00 pm. He said he was sorry for our blow up on the last phone call.I told him I did not blow up he did and this IS the case. I told him we needed to move on. He said what do you mean? I said the tenant landlord relationship has been destroyed. He told me I will have to pay his lawyer bills and we are not going anywhere for a year. He started raising his voice and he called me a worthless human being. I hung up phone. I fear for the safety of me and my wife especially when I am away. He seems to have a violent temper that makes us very uncomfortable. This is a small community and a few people in town have advised us to watch our step with him and keep our doors locked. I do not want to involve the towns people in our disputes. If this is considered here say disregard the last statement.
