we lived for over a year and the management said we don't have to do the carpet shampooing when we moved out. We know there were no stains in the carpet that were not removable. We were just given a bill and are pressurized to pay it. When I asked for the photos of the carpet and the day they installed it and how much did they pay to install new carpets and how much did they replace, the management never gave any answers. The point is if they had not said that we don't have to shampoo, we would you got it professionally cleaned. I think they are just demanding too much of money for removable stains.
