We have been having air conditioning problems since moving into this townhouse October 2013. We have complained about the central air and heat unit from day one. The landlord's son send people I believe he tells them to tell us the unit is okay. However, in the winter it's cold and now it is summer and it is sweltering in here. Last year a certified air condition repairman was sent out and we were told the unit is old and dangerous, and could possibly catch on fire. My husband and I are on fixed incomes and our electric bills are outrageous. We pay our rent on time and we are very good tenants. We have improved the property since moving in, compared to the horrible conditions the property was in upon moving in. Immediately after moving in, there was a severe water leak in the front bedroom. Water leaking from the outside water facet. The first man he sent out to make the repairs, left with the work undone, because he said they refused to pay for the work he began to do and he was still owed money from a previous job. The floor was saturated with water the stench was horrific. We lived in those conditions for almost a month. What made him finally repair the water leak, my husband threaten to take the next month rent money and have someone to come out and make the repairs, because we were getting ill from the stench. After the threat, he sent someone out to repIr the leak. Once the leak was repaired, he had to replace the carpet. He brought some cheap carpet, which wasn't large enough for the little room. The maintenance man told us, he was told by IBN to use the carpet he brought and he will get some close to that piece of carpet and he can piece it together. The maintenance man said he told IBN, "I am not going to do these people like that, and furthermore, my work represents me." IBN was forced to go out and buy more cheap carpet. We have been hearing unpleasant things about this company from varies people who have worked for them. The chief complaint is, he doesn't like to pay the workers for their work, so he has trouble getting people to work for him. I refuse to have myself and my husband's health endangered by this SLUMLORD! I have existing health problems as well as my husband. This heat is dangerous and unhealthy! Please help us!
