I gave a security deposit of 948.00 for a one bedroom apartment, I had surgery on my hand on March 14th 2013 and my move in date was April 15 20113 if I was able to move in on that date due to physical therapy and other problems with my hand I could not move in. I went into the leasing office and told the consultant that instead of a one bedroom I would like a two bedroom, that was fine but it would not be ready until May 17, 2013 someone would call and let me know when it was ready to look at and sign a lease, two weeks went by I called on may 14 to ask if the apartment was ready they told me yes I could come in and sign my lease and look at the apartment. I came in to look at the apartment she was with other clients and she gave me the lease to began signing after that she gave me the keys to go look at the apartment and when I did I was not satisfied with the suite everything was wrong with it , the garbage disposal sound like it was coming out the sink, big stain on floor, paint chips all off the door way to both bedrooms, fire alarm taken off the wall replace but print was still on the wall, toilets would not flush properly and door to suite had not been paint inside or out and the floor had not been vacuum. I spoke with the manager Derek the day after and he said fine we will find you something else because he wanted me to be satisfied I told him that I would like to be in another building and he said no problem that fine but he never said it would be more to be in that building, so I said I would just stay in the same building he said fine. the two bedroom they offered had to full baths that's the only thing they had going for 865.00 I decided to take that suite but it would not be ready until June 21, 2013 they would call when it was ready and to sign a new lease. no one had called me so on June 18,2013 I called and spoke with the manager Derek and told him my mother had fallen and fractured her hip and I had to go out of town to check on her and I would not be able to move in on June 21 he gave me his apology about my mom and he said that's fine but he could not hold the suite for me , but he could find me something when I was ready to move in, two weeks had gone by and I sent a email saying that I would not be moving in and may I have my security deposit back or at least half of it and they refused , I have called and left messages for the manager to call me back but he has not.
