COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
I called my landlord and left a message with a secretary on 12/29/09 that I had just left a dermatologist appointment for bites and that I would like to have an exterminator come to the unit to assess the problem. I did not hear back from the company so I called again on 12/30/09 to report the problem again, hoping for an exterminator to come to my unit. On 12/30/09 she returned my phone call and said that the bugs (especially bed bugs) would be my responsibility to address, so to get a treatment/spray from the drug store and do the treatment myself. She also said she would send someone to the house. On 12/31/09, a "handy man" came to the house, looked inside my place, said it was fine and that he would check with my landlord for treatment. On January 4th I called to follow up and was told that the "handy man" would be coming to my house that day to spray the outside and leave me with something for me to spray inside with my neighbor who is home during the day. He didn't come on the 4th, so I called my landlord on the 5th and she said knew that he had not and would come that day. No one came on the 5th to spray and it still has not been addressed. I have slept at my boyfriend's place since 12/26/09 until the present except for one day where I was bit in 8 places including 2 on my face. The first night, I had 20 welts on my thigh. At the time I hadn't thought about taking pictures, but have a picture from 1/7/09 (today) where some scarring is still. I have also gotten 2-3 random bites along the way on my neck and back of my legs even though I had not slept in my bed at all during that time.
