Who can help with landlord retaliation?

What can I do about my landlord coming in and deliberately tampering with and turning off our central ac unit? They also had a tow truck out to remove our vehicles from the complex parking lot even though we had the correct parking stickers displayed. The tow truck was here last night after the town inspector was here to check the ac. We are in Illinois and everyone I talk to says ac is a luxury but the unit was working fine until he came in and tampered with it. The landlord has refused to make any repairs.

Have you check if the AC is part of your rent? If it is then you can do something about it. If not then you can’t do anything about it unless he goes inside your unit without notice.
