Turnover costs when landlord decides to sell

By Joyce

I was on a lease when my landlord decided to put the house on the market, I returned keys already and moved out because there was a mutual agreement that I’d we found a place right away, she would let us out of the lease so she can sell the house sooner.  Now, she wants to charge me to have everything cleaned, painted, etc so it’s showable and ready to be moved into when the house sells.   We didn’t want to move out in the first place, she displaced us because she wanted to sell while the market is good, is this legal?
