Sanitation Charges
By Erich Randolph
I just moved into a duplex and got my LADWP bill and noticed the sanitation charge on it. Am I responsable for this charge?

The sanitation charges are dictated by your state so yes, you have to pay them. However, you should only be charged the full amount if you are living in a rented house. If you are living in an apartment, the total bill must be prorated to the number of units occupied. |
