rat faeces n urine in my oven for a mont

By ace

iv told my landlord for 4 month that one of the windows does not shut properly and it needs to be repaired. he failed to repair it in a timley matter. a rat got in the window and lived in my oven for a few days, i told the land lord about the issue, he suggested that i clean up my unit and that "the condition of my place" was the cause of the rats. he finaly hired an extermantor compnay and they stated that rat came in thru the window because there was rat shit on the window sill. it took over a month for the landlord to deal the faeces and urine that was in the oven for a month, my daughter was sick on of that month. what options do i have? than after that fiasco he sent me a 60 day notice to vacate the property. any suggestions?

Hello Ace! It’s not very clear if the issue got fixed or not. But it seems here that the issue was fixed and you are too late to even do anything. You can always try to file a complaint against your landlord. The RPA has a complaint center that can do this for you(http://www.rentalprotectionagency.com/complaint_center.php). They will try and mediate so that hopefully the landlord retracts the eviction. Now Here’s what you should have done: You should have had a paper trail, document everything: Notice stating that he needs to fix the broken window, rat coming in and living in your stove, etc. Because in this case, you might not have strong evidence if the landlord goes to court regarding your eviction. Remember that he does have a “WRITTEN” 60 day notice.
