Problem with my NOISY NEIGHGORS

By MzPee

This is a complaint on the neighbors in apartment XXX; they are playing their music unfairly to loud. The base is so loud the walls and floor shake outside my apartment in hall way. Needless to say in my apartment I can also hear them in front room/kitchen/bathroom and sometimes but not least bedroom.. If you walk down the hall away from them towards the front door to the street you can hear them. I have asked them in a very nice way to please turn the music down. I thought maybe by telling them about the noise it would bring their attention to the fact that they were not aware of the noise that they are creating .Not to mention their neighbors under them are never home to complain. You see I also live here and pay rent, and I am in titled to my piece and quite. Although they have rights too, their rights do not include the disturbance of their neighbors. I also do not have that right to disturb my neighbors and I am always asking my neighbors "Am I creating any unnecessary noise, if so please let me know so I can solve that. I have no way of knowing unless I am told, of course that does not include common sense! Please can someone tell me what the procedure is in California in which to complain and take action about this matter? I have asked the manager for help and he refused!

I found procedures for Illinois but none for California please help!

Hi, I also had issues with a rude and noisy neighbor before but thankfully it was resolved by my landlord. For this case, you have to inform your landlord so that they have give a notice to your neighbor if they wont change your landlord can evict them.

We are renting a place in Marin County, CA,n been living there over two years now for two adult and two children (15 and 5 years old) . But in less than a year my 15 year old daughter moved out to a boarding school and I’m visiting the place on the weekends or once a month. The people live there is just my daughter with her 5 year old son. One occasion, my daughter join a singing competition, she was practicing singing by herself at midday but the tenant below us complaint that she is singing too loud, that she wants her to stop singing. The manager went to our unit and told my daughter about the tenant complaint her singing even if she closed all the windows and inside our house. Don’t we have the right to practice singing inside our rented unit, during the day after 8am and before 10pm? The landlord give us a written warning about that. Also, now that my grandson who just turn 7 years old, has friends from two neighbor kids in the building, and every time the kids play at my house, during the day, the manager will complain of the kids noise. For the record we do not have visitors, no party except for neighbor kids playing.
