Do you have any solution for noise problems ?

By rayven

The fire alarm in my upstairs neighbor’s apartment has been doing the low battery beep constantly for 4 days now.   beep beep beep beep, 5 sec delay, beep beep beep beep, 5 sec delay, beep beep beep beep.  I contacted management about it yesterday and he said he would get it fixed yesterday (apparently the neighbor is out of town).  Yet it continued beeping all night last night and is still beeping right now.  I tried to call it in today, answering service answered and had maintenance call me back.  Maintenance guy said they don’t dispatch on weekends except for emergencies.  Since then I’ve even gone so far as to call the cops, but there’s nothing they can do other than send a civil servant out to help me collect evidence for a lawsuit (that’s what they said anyways).  Doesn’t the landlord have a legal responsibility to deal with the disruptive noise on the property instead of letting it continue?  What kind of rights do I have in this situation?  I just want the darned beeping stopped, it’s driving me crazy and giving me a headache and it’s almost impossible to sleep with the constant beeping.Do you have any solution for noise problems ?
