my landlords wants me to leave while she is rearranging the place
By Mary
Hi,
My landlord wants to come to her place and wants me to leave the apartment while she is here to rearrange the furniture (it’s a furnished apartment and she wants to sell her place). I said no but she insists and begin to be rude. What can I do ?
What can I do if she doesn’t want to give me back my security deposit at the end of the lease ?
Thank you very much in advance

Mary.. good day.. and thanks for the post.. Typically owners may enter Usually they may enter with that notice to show for sale or to rent, repair.. inspect.. etc.. all the reasons that you’d expect are reasonable. As the tenant, you have ‘exclusive control’ that is your home is your castle… with few exceptions.. you pay for it you get to use it.. Not reasonable: You rent the home and furniture as described in the rental agreement and can do any arranging you like. Unless your rental agreement or NY law says otherwise… treat this as a request.. no need to get nasty… with her.. Now then.. consider Just dont leave.. maybe even help arrange the stuff.. and of course she helps put it back… or brings help You do not have to leave… Keep us posted |
