making up rules
By YRK
Due to personal reasons I am moving out during the term of my lease. I asked our property managet if I can sublease. She said yes. So I started looking. I found two people, one with pet other with 3 year old daughter. Our property manager said they have no pets policy (nothing of that sort is mentioned in lease). For the second person she said she won’t let kids be on second floor. When I argued a little she said and I quote "because of this discussion I am not going to allow sublease"

What does your lease agreement say? If it says there are no pets allowed and that no children are allowed on the second floor then your landlord wins. It is your responsibility to read your lease agreement thoroughly. So before you went out and looked for people to sublease to, you should have read your lease agreement to correctly qualify your applicants. You’re breaking the lease early so you’ll have to satisfy your landlord’s requirements for that. |

No Children on the Second Floor? The Landlord is violating Federal Fair Housing Laws, CONTACT HUD RIGHT AWAY! EQUAL HOUSING IS THE LAW. http://www.fairhousing.org Federal Laws trump Laws of Tort. No where in a contract does it say you must smoke crack cocaine to live here? Because smoking or possessing crack cocaine is against Federal Law. |
