is Landlord responsible for cackroach control after tenant moved in?

By Eunil Lee

As I been in the apartment unit for clean up, I hardly saw cackroach, but after my tenant moved in, they are complaining of cackroaches and threatning me of reporting a complain of cackorach and how dirty the place is. Is Landlord responsible for control of cackroach? If my tenant file a complain, what trouble would Landlord be faced with or charged with? Please respond to me ASP to my email. Thanks.

Eunil,

Most Resident and Landlord Tenant Ordinances require landlords to exterminate insects, rodents or other pests. You should check the RLTO relative to the location of your property.

I am also interested to find out if you have already resolved this issue. The reason being is that I am in the early stages of developing a web based property management application that automates the landlord and tenant legal obligations and other key services for the lifespan of a tenancy.

If this is something that you would be interested in using I would like to send you some questionnaires to help with my research.

Best Regards

Rich
