driveway parking issue
By Cheryl
Landlord said driveway was shared, nothing about the tenants who live downstairs involves a shared driveway. They park right at the end of it even blocking the sidewalk sometimes. I called the police a couple of times to get things documented. Rent is supposed to include off street parking. I will have NO off street parking when winter comes and landlord does nothing to resolve situation, even though he said he would send out a letter reminding them to share the driveway parking. If I use the driveway the lady downstairs blocks the end of the driveway from the street blocking me in 100%. I have taken about 100 pictures of them blocking the driveway since I moved in July 1st. Tenants downstairs even went away for 10 days and left cars in drive while gone. I called landlord he said there isnt room for 3 cars and to be happy they left me a walkway. Yes, the people downstairs have 2 cars. I am assuming that he knows then we will be in trouble this winter. Or should I say I WILL be in trouble seeing that there are 3 cars here (his own words)”but not enough room for 3 cars??”. I dont know if I should demand a rent reduction, take people downstairs to court, or get a mediator for the situation. Please help, Nov 15th is gonna come quick and I cant be stuck in the winter. Oh, and I love the apartment otherwise. Thanks!

This is completely a irresponsible behaviour of tenants living downstairs, as they have 3 cars so they need to find some other place to park them or ask them to park on street. Also you are too paying a rent to your landlord as they pay, so ask him to say the other tenants to keep enough space in driveway so you people can walk and par your car safely and with comfort space. |
