Crime in apartment complex
By jo
Moved in a few weeks ago. Went out for the first time tonight since I moved in. When I came back, a window was broken and I had been burglarized, lost thousands in music equipment, laptop, tv. It’s Friday night. Made out the police report. The office is closed until Monday. Am trying to find an emergency number. I have a year lease. Do I have a legal right to break the lease under the circumstances or to demand bars on my windows? Under the circumstances, think the burglar is most likely a neighbor. What are my rights? Thanks
