Breaking a lease with a work transfer and a new renter moving in

By ccbloom88

I had an apartment in Tempe, AZ and due to a work transfer I had to move to Michigan by January 31. My lease is not up until April. I signed a notice to vacate but nothing on any form of payment plans (whether I was going to break the lease or payoff the remaining months on my lease). I got a call from my insurance company informing me that someone else claimed insurance on my apartment and has moved in. Should I have to pay off my apartment with leaving for a work transfer and with someone moving in before my lease was up?
