Black mold in rental

By Delyteful

My dishwasher has been leaking to the point that the carpet behind the wall gets soaked, my lower cabinets are buckling and the floor is pulling away from dishwasher and cabinets. I contacted my landlord when we first noticed the problem (over a year ago). They just sent someone out to fix the problem on friday Aug. 3, 2012. The repair man stated that he could not fix the problem due to the large amounts of black mold and if he was to touch it the black mold would become airborn. My landlord is now trying to send a maintenance man out to just cut and remove the mold areas. Are there any rules or laws that state how black mold is suppose to be removed in Nevada? What can I do to protect my family and pets?
