Being charged $1000 on top of my deposit

Hi there,

Idaho renter here,
I’m being charged ~ $1000 past my deposit.  This seem outrageous to me and I was wondering what (if any) my options were.  The letter I got from the landlord just stated the charges were do to – 360 for carpet cleaning, 360 for house cleaning, and 1000 for maintenance.  I know they are replacing a large section of the carpet, but that was do to a faulty appliance, so I should not be charged for this.  I’ve rented the place for 3 years and it HAS accumulated a lot of wear and tear – but no major damage that I’m aware of.
I cannot afford to pay anyone $1000 right now, and I’ve no idea what to do!!
