Bed Bug Problem
By Cody suarez
I am experiencing problems with bed bugs in my apartment. In the contract it states " In the event Owner determines that the Apartment Home Requires treatment for the extermination of bed bugs, Resident shall be liable for the cost of such treatment and shall immediately reimburse Owner for the costs of such treatment."
Are there any loop holes around this where I can get the landlord to pay for the extermination?

Bed Bug Problem
By Jacob
Hi,
I live in an apartment complex in Olathe kansas. I told my apt complex leasing office that I have bed bugs. They jumped on it right away and got the first round of treatment done. Then after a few days I get a letter I am supposed to pay $1000. I was not informed initially that I will have to bear the expenses. I am sure I could have found better/cheaper options. I don think I should pay for the treatment. What should I do ??
Thanks,
Jacob

My appartement has infested by bed bugs. My land lord refuses to treat them. we have pest control extermination agrrement in the lease contract but they never did do any routine control. they accused me to bring them in. while they are not sure and I explained that I didn’t have traveled ,any guest or new furniture. I know there is possibility for that, but who knows. may be they came from vents. they wanna charge me for 950$ which is too too much for a student. I really need a professional help. Thanks for your time.

Bed Bug Problem
By MSHM
Hi,
I appreciate your advice about my problem.
I rented an apartment 4 months ago. During my first week, I was sleeping on the floor, because I didn’t buy furniture.
Later, I was feeling severe itching on over all my body. I went to the hospital and the doctor told me it is from bed bug. At the beginning I was not aware about the bed bug until the doctor showed my some pictures.
I reported that to the staff at the property. Many treatments were conducted. I have noticed decline in the number of the bed bug however, still there are exist.
I expressed my frustration to the landlord for the slow progress of the treatment. It has been for 4 months.
However, the landlord dealt with me aggressively and accused me that I am the one who is bringing the problem.
I told him that I am going to move out since I can’t tolerate that any more, especially I have a family and I am expecting my first child.
However, the landlord started threaten me that he is going to report that in my rental history if I moved anywhere and telling that I am carrying bed bugs.
Now, I really supervised about the way that landlord was accusing and threatening me.
And I decided to officially complain to the local authorities about that.
I appreciate your advice from where shall I start.
