Apartment Complaints Video
By Tenant
Not sure if you should file an Apartment Complaints with the Rental Protection Agency?
This video shows you the options you have as a tenant when it comes to complaints. You have rights as a tenant. Filing a complaint without fear of retaliation is one of those rights.
Video Transcript:
So, you’ve got a rental problem but you’re not sure what to do…
If dealing with your landlord directly doesn’t work; you could:
File a lawsuit.
But, this is expensive and slow! … and should be a last resort.
You could hire a local mediator; but your landlord would need to agree to mediation, and be willing to meet; plus you still have to cover the $150 hourly rate.
Well, that’s no good!
Wouldn’t it be great if there were other options to resolve rental problems more quickly?
There are, thanks to the Rental Protection Agency.
You can either:
Report your landlord: This no cost option will document the problem, but, the RPA won’t get involved in finding a solution.
You could also; file a Complaint:
This option requires a minimal filing fee; but the RPA will get involved and contact your landlord to find a prompt resolution.
After filing; you’ll immediately receive a case number which you can use to check your case status, add additional information, upload images, files, or to respond to your landlord.
Once your case is resolved, or closed; the complaint will be attached to the landlords public record; which quickly gets indexed by all major search engines.
Of course your information always remains confidential, and won’t be made public.
As a renter; you have rights. Filing a apartment complaints without fear of retaliation is one of those rights.

Guys this is the best among any rent dispute handling agency. My landlord was charging me hidden costs of paper works done during handing over keys to him, when we were leaving from his apartment, even though my monthly rent was 250$, due to few leakage and flooring problems which were quite obvious from first we moved in, and we fixed the problem on our cost basis, however during security deposit handing over.. my landlord gave me 15% less amount,, saying the repair work is not done correctly and also he threathend us with dire consequences if we said of security deposit and flooring faultiness to any of his tenants or so. This is were RPA came to our rescue, they mediate so well with landlord and renter that within few days my problem was solved and also received my 15% amount, what best part of their working i like is they have online facility for renting problems, I easily checked my case status with them, and followed supported their designated mediator with all the documents and proof needed. and all this you won’t believe done in 35$. I will recommend their service to anyone that approach me in future for their land owner or tenancy issues. Thank you RPA |
