Throwing things off 2nd story patio

By Maggie Henderson

I have been having issues with the childfren in my apartment complex.  They have a great big playground area but play directly in front of my patio on the 1st floor.   I have had a frisbee, a basketball and a football come flying onto my patio while I have been sitting there.  I was not hit, but my new grill was hit by the football, and the frisbee and basketball came very close to me.  I was just trying to relax and read.  I can tolerate the noise as children do have the right to play, but as I said, there is a very, very large area in which to play.  Part of the problem is that the tenants above me seem to think it is okay to throw tihings to and from their patio above me–the basketball and also waster balloons.  Although the water balloons would not hurt me if it, I really do not appreciate the spray of water I get as I am trying to have peaceful, relaxing time.  The basketball, on the other hand, could have hurt me if I had been hit, which I almost was.  The football or other items could have damaged my grill.  Is throwing things from patios even legal?
