A vandalism occured and a window was broken. Police report filed. Who is legally responsible to pay for the repair?

If there was a tenant living there then it’s theirs. You don’t know really WHO broke the window and the tenants are responsible for the home until the term of their lease. Your lease should have something in it regarding damages and this would fall under that category even if they didn’t do the damage themselves. Also some renters ins. policies cover window breakage too so they can claim it if they want, but I doubt they can force you to do it. |
