I signed a lease buy I didn’t pay. Can they sue?
By Jeremy
I stupidly signed a lease without getting a tour of the home nor a view of the property in person. The suppost renter is a man who suppostly just moved to Texas and was trying to rent out his home. After signing the agreement he asked to western union him the down payment (1000) to his "finacial advisor". Being a risky business man, I quickly caught on to what was going on and decided to end my supposit lease with the man. If this man is actually who he says he is which I’m not completely counting on, can he sue me? FYI this man only communicated with me threw text/email.

I totally understand your concern and unfortunately since you did sign the lease agreement that automatically binds you to a legal contract, therefore you have to comply to your end of the bargain. There are several situations that could allow you to break the lease or the contract: 1 the property is misrepresented like for example the ad that you saw says that it has something that it actually doesn’t. 2 If the property has serious problems like for example the house is not safe to live in. 3 if the owner wishes to release you from the contract. 4 if you can find another tenant who will sign a lease agreement so that your contract will be null and void. |
