Foreclosed tenant eviction without notice
By Jimmy
Just today, I was forced to move out by an eviction order carried out by sheriffs. In the process, leaving my possessions behind and being informed that the home that I was renting in has been foreclosed and purchased by an investor. Since the 8 month period that I have been renting I was never made aware about the foreclusure process or even the Eviction Notice that was served 4 days ago. I have attempted to speak with the investor to inform him that I was never presented with a written notice by the new landlord (investor) stating that I have 90 days to move out. I know I should have at most 90 days to move out due to the tenant protection act of 2009, however, the investor is ignoring my pleas and am currently sleeping over in a friends home. What must I do to recieve those 90 days I desperately need…more so now, since I am in my mid semester of college?
