Water Bill

By Landlord

My renter feels she should not have to pay her water bill since part of the water used is for the yard. We each assumed the other would pay would pay water although she pays all other utilities. In fairness, who should be responsible? It is a single family home with backyard.

I am a landlord myself and I let my renter pay for the water bill. What I did is that I let my renter transfer the name of the utilities to their name. I don’t know if that would apply to you in your state too. But I think the renter should pay. It’s a single family home so that means they’re the only ones living there and using the utilities – water included.
