threw out no notice

I came home to the place i rented room to find me and belongings and myself out of house. No notice. No refund of monies.

I rented a room from a friend lol that insisted i give up my apartment to rent room from him to help us both out,  I gave up my apartment amd moved in. within three months he drained more than rent money. money for utilities, housekeeping services no charge.  He decides one day nhe doesnt want me there and threws me out now i am homeless cause i broke he got all my money.  I was not only renter just the one he used.  what is my recourse?
