Can my Landlord do this?!?
By Michael
What is the highest temperature in a rental that is considered habitable? My apartment has an evaporative cooler, which does very little cooling during the monsoon season; monsoons last for 2 to 3 months in Arizona. The temperature gets as high as 88 degrees by late afternoon, and doesn’t cool off until midnight. Is this legal? The landlord sends his handyman to look at it each time we call, but every time they come out, the repairman says that it is doing all it can do. The repairman also admittted that evaporative coolers do not work when the humidity reaches 25% or higher. At present, it is 87 degrees with 63% humidity. HELP!!!

Hi Micheal, I really understand how frustrated you would be as the temperature rise till 88 degrees where as evaporation coolers do not work when the humidity reaches 25% or higher. Landlord need to purchase new cooler or AC as the thing is not working also need to make arrangement the foods which are getting spoiled too or Whether you can change your Landlord after completing exit formalities if he is not doing so. |
