There is the thief in the building with a key!

Hi,For years, I have been fighting with my landlords and the housing authority for decent places to live.  Recently, I finally got the bathroom fixed through the ineffective inspection process.  The mold is still reoccurring, but the inspection department finally made her use mold resistant paint.  This landlord put a restraining order against me that was dropped by her because it was frivolous.  In addition while the apartment had failed inspection, she kept giving me 3 day notices to quit once I reported problems and demanded for rent.  She will not release my security deposit interest or give me past receipts.  I am almost certain that I will have to sue for it once I move.  Here is the kicker, the housing authority will not let me move and the landlord has been coming into my apartment without permission, removing things and erasing many files off my computer.  I am distraught over the personal loss.Recently, I read this is a constructive eviction.  How do I get protection?  What do I do?Thanks for your time and consideration!

Hi Jahbarb, :) you are right that your case is a constructive eviction. That means that your landlord is forcing you out of his property, in this case it is illegal. Your landlord does not have the right to use constructive eviction to break a lease without due case for their own ends. I suggest for you to talk to a real estate lawyer or you can also secure help from RPA they can provide the kind of advice a tenant needs to pursue this type of legal claim. :) God bless you!
