Family feud, are we evicted?

By

For the past four years I have been living in my grandmother’s country home, as she moved to an apartment in town. I pay her monthly rent, as well as take care of half of the taxes, and all of the maintnence of the home. While here I have not only kept up with outside summer and winter maintence, but replace the hotwater tank, had the furnace serviced, fixed a hole in the side of the home, replaced spouting, and had a person come in and fix the subfloor so that new laminate floors can be laid. My husband and I would now like to buy the home, but my grandmother is asking 10,000 more than the appraised value, and because she is upset with us is telling us that we must move out. Because it was a family favor, we have no lease, told us she wants us out of the house? How much time does she have to give us, if any, before this becomes a legal matter?
