breaking a lease due to severe allergy??

By Veronica

hi. i need advice on breaking my lease as a renter.  i have severe allergies with systemic symptoms that do not go away without getting medication to clear up.  this is getting distressing and exspensive.  These symptoms are allergic reaction type problems. (rashes, hives, facial swelling and inside mouth tissue swelling and sores). sometimes i cant even eat for days!  one of the triggers for this chaos is the trees in the yard.  (i didnt know this when i signed the lease.)  i havent mentioned it to my landlord because i am just finding it out.  they are very strict on the rules and havent helped me in the past with property problems.  (such as fixing a window in my vehicle when part of this tree fell in a storm and busted it….twice!

how do i approch this and what can i do?

thank you

miserable in north carolina,

veronica

I’m having the same situation-I knew i was born in a family with asthma and allergies and lived in OH all my life with hardly any notice of it. Moved to FL recently and my allergies and asthma have become out of hand. I didn’t know there was this much pollen here all the time and different than OH pollen. I had no idea I would be this allergic to FL. Tried taking pills and shots, but can’t due to other health conditions. I stay indoors with purifiers running all the time, but that only offers little help. I’m miserable most of the time.
