Increase rent or evict me

By Henry Decotis

My Landlord wants to increase my rent by 300$ in Norwalk, Ct. He says if I don’t accept he will evict me. He lives upstairs and I am the only renter of the two-family. Can he evict me? On what grounds? I recently had him fix an electrical wiring problem – can I get a 6 months rent freeze?

Hi Im a landlord as well but certified by RPA. If you have a lease with a specific time term then you don;t have to accept the raised rent however if you are on a monthly basis payment then your landlord shall give you a 30 days notice. I hope this helps you.
