Landlord will not repair Septic tank& Shut off water

I moved into the home I am renting now back in May 2010 and there have been issues w/ the septic tank since. The tank is very old and needs to be repaired or replaced. The owner who wanted a 2 year lease from me and got it has now said he is not going to repair it and I need to get out immediately. This is the second time it has happened. The first time it completely backed up into the home’s toilets, tubs and showers he got someone out after a week of me having to stay with family. He then allowed us to come back to the home. The same problem happened a month later which is now and he sent me a letter and told me to get out again and this time that he was not going to do anything to the tank and he has shut the water off to the home. What should we do. I do not think I should have to move. he should have to fix the tank.

My landlord is a slum lord. Won’t fix anything including dangerous conditions

The landlord has this duty to repair because all residential leases and rental agreements contain an implied warranty of habitability. Ask him again and again to fix the problem. You need to put some pressure so he’ll make a move. Check your lease, maybe it could help you.
