Can one tenant sue another tenant?

I live on the upper floor of an apartment building. I had the water running at the Kitchen sink to defrost an item. I was in the living room and came back to find the pipe had broke and water was everywhere and leaked into the apartment below. The landlord was notified. I was able to fix the leak. There was damage to the floor of my apartment (minor) but damage also to the ceiling of the apartment below.The landlord is repairing. The tenant below is suing me in small claims. It does not state the reason. Just states "Other". I did not do anything wrong.How can I protect myself here?
