disgruntled renter
By chrisa
I moved into Brookside Manor apartments about a year ago. I did not know that my lease was going to renew itself automaticaly without signing it. I assumed it went month to month. Here when the lease automaticaly renewed my rent increased to about 70 dollars more a month. I can not afford to live there any longer. I tried to see if something could be negotiated but the landlord is inhumane and calous and only cares about getting money.. Not sure what I can do as to what my rights are a a tenant..HELP

I don’t blame you for being upset with your landlord. But, you are kind of in a bad situation. The lease you agreed to will show that you agreed to the automatic lease renewal, thus legally you are not in a good position. If you were to hire an attorney, there is little they could do to assist you. Since you have nothing to lose, I would try filing a complaint with the RPA… hopefully the threat of a negative public record will get your landlord to be more reasonable. Good luck. |

I am going thru the same issue with my management office. I don’t know how they can get away with this crap. |
