Apartment with mold

By happyplace23

This is the second apartment that i have lived in that has mold(same landlord for both apartment. I have told my landlord many times about the mold and she says there is no mold in the apartment, however a mold inspector conformed that there is mold.  because of the mold I am having health problems.my doctor told me I have to move. My landlord isn’t happy about me moving. She thinks mold doesn’t cause health problems.

Can I sue my landlord because of it?

Did this mold inspector provide a spore count or give you the strain of mold?  Most apartment molds are harmless, while the may cause some people to have allergic reactions it is usually not life threatening.

There is only one type of mold that is really toxic.  However, it still may not be cause for lease termination.  I would suggest you file a complaint with the RPA or try working it out with your landlord somehow.

Good Luck!!
