Your question “Who pays for broken washer” is really incomplete and needs clarification. There are so many variables to this. Here are just a few I can think of:
1) The washer is owned by the landlord
2) The washer is your unit
3) You lease the washer
4) The washer is provided but not included in the rent
5) The washer is leased every month
6) The washer was sold to you by the landlord

WOW! I’m the first guy to reply on this one! First time for everything! I would say that the landlord is responsible for fixing the washer, typically. It really depends on a couple of factors. I think you forgot to post the actual details… I only see your title and nothing else. Hope that helps!
