UNjust Carpet replacement fees

By P.Ray

My old Apartment had some stains on the carpet (my toddler split juice) and during move out checking the apartment manager told me that if they cannot take out the stains they will onl replace a part of the carpet. There were 3 stains in the entire apartment so this mornign she called me and told me that they had to replace the carpet for the entire apartment because the stains would not come out and we will have to pay extra (this was after $500 deposit) because the carpet still had 2.5yrs of life left. I have no proof what she said about replacing only a part of the carpet and as a result she can completely deny saying that. Any suggestions on what to do? Ideally I would like to get a part of my deposit back but in any case I do not want to pay extra.
