Smoke problems in Apartment

Hello,

I stay in an apartment near Banashankari Bangalore. My neighbour uses old styled water heating mechanism and the smoke caused due to heating enters my building. My wall color has blackened due to it and plus early morning a lot of smoke is released which is causing too many problems. We cannot even open doors and windows early morning. 
Please suggest on how this problem can be addressed. Is there any way to take legal action?

Talk to your neighbor. If the water heating mechanism smokes a lot, then there could be an issue with the wiring or something. Mine used to smoke while in the shower and I had to call maintenance to have it fixed. If you live in the same building, this could be an issue that your landlord needs to deal with. If your landlord doesn’t act on it, you can file a complaint with agencies like RPA.

Thanks Casey for the reply. I stay in an apartment and the smoke is coming from a small house which is in next building. So, its not related to apartment and so landlord cannot help me.
