Hello,

We had rented an single bedroom apartment. We vacated the house by providing a formal notice. It is more than 30 days now and we did not hear about our deposit money being returned. Hence we contacted the former owner for the same. Returning of the deposit was completly denied by the former owner and said that it would take some more time to compile the bills for the money spent on the repairs.

Also the deposit money was not kept in an Escrow account as mentioned in the agreement.

Please advise further steps on this.

The unit was rented in PA and owned by a private owner.
