Month to Month Tenancy/Move out notice

Once our leases expire they go to a month to month tenancy. We also have a 60 day notice setup. We had someone challenge this and state that if it goes to a month to month tenancy, we cannot require a 60 day notice, is this correct?

do i have a right to know who made a complaint about me.the landlord left a letter telling me a complaint was made that i have my dog unleashed and i do not clean after him.and i look in people patios.all this is untrue
