No heat in my bedroom for 3-4 years

When we moved in to the house we rent we had heat in all rooms. After 2 years the heater leaked and the landlords refuse to pay for it. They told me to get an electric heater for now until they get estimates. They got the estimates and they said they are not paying to fix it. My electric bill is sky high ever since and I am going on 4 years with no heat in my room. Im afraid if I really push the issue they will raise my rent or kick us out. I love the home we are in ….I just want heat. I have arthritis and other medical problems and the cold makes it so much worse. The electric heater works to a point but I cant leave it plugged in all the time. How can I get this done without getting kicked out.
