Mold Concerns

I tsrated renting my house ni Aug ’09.  My wife and I did the move-in inspection and noted visible mold.  I wasn’t versed on the landlord responsibilities at the time.  Now that I am, I have asked him to test the mold and remediate it.  He has had it tested and is supposedly going to remediate, but it has been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard anything.  What are my options?  We are in the process of adoption and I’m more concerned now that we’re bringing a baby home.  If I had it my way, I’d move and break the lease.  Not sure if he violated the lease by not remediating within 5 days according to the Virginia Landlord Tenant Act.  Any advice is appreciated.
