Landlord Troubles

By Brian

My name is Brian. Me and my room mate live in a 1 bedroom apartment. I have several mental defects ranging from Severe Bipolar Depression to ADHD and on top of that a small heart condition. My landlord has always harassed us by calling us drug addicts and accusing us of doing things we’ve never done. He uses the “N” word excessively and even uses it to provoke fights. Several weeks ago, my mother and brother both moved into this tiny apartment because both of them lost their homes and the landlord never had complaints about that until she started dating a black male. Now suddenly she is trashy and so on to him. In the last week or so my mother and I started to feed two stray cats that the Animal shelter WILL NOT ACCEPT do to them not being in immediate danger, and our landlord complained about us feeding them on the property even though it visibly did no damage to anything but when we feed the animals off the property (IE across the street and on our neighbors property. Which she allows) he will take their food and water bowls and throw them in the dumpsters so the cats can not eat. Our landlord also told neighborhood kids they were not allowed on the property because of their color. Anyways last night my landlord brought me outside and cursed me up and down calling us worthless no-bodies and trying to bait me into a fight (I didn’t engage him because he WILL pull a gun on me just like he did the young boy he called the “N” word last month that brought all his friends and family here to teach him a lesson) but after cursing at me he swore that he would have me thrown out of here and taught a lesson (almost in a threatoning manner) if it was the last thing he did.

Is there anything I can do to defend myself and my family?Do you have any suggestion for this Landlord Troubles ?

I feel very sad to hear your condition.

Here the situation is grim and very bad, I would say to you that be at the safer side first of all. Never have any verbal or any kind of fight with him, You can pay the rent on time and remain clean at your side. Be good to your neighbours so they can be useful in your future investigation help if you file a complain. Take up a case and file a complaint with some good renting agency.

Let me know if you need any further help. God Bless.
