i am being evited

By Melissa

I am being evicted from the property I rent… Due to my rent being 3 months late . What are my rights? I have on many occasions contacted the landlord stating that I am having difficulties with money. I have no legal agreement with regards to the property that I am renting. Can u help me find away to stay in my home? Thanks

Hi Melissa, we have various grounds for landlord to evict their tenants. Your case could be one of those valid reasons why your landlord needs to serve an eviction notice. You can still talk to your landlord about it and see if things can still be worked out. If the issue will not get fixed you need to leave the unit as requested by your landlord. BUT, you can also stay in the unit and see if the landlord files an application against you with the Board and if he does you can go to the hearing and explain yourself to the Member. :) Wishing you luck!
