how soon can you come out after complaint was filed

we complained about bedbugs,called the building code complaince officer and requested to a file a complaint…..she refused stated she has the entire town to do……..i told her we were contacting the rental protection agency then …that same night we got a 5 day notice to vacate and terminstion of our lease due to having a dog we dont have and never did…..we were suposed to leave today and the landlord said he would give our security deposit back if we quietly well we decided to stay since my daughter has school here with just a few months left and we did nothing wrong but comlain about bed bugs and when i was talking to the carol at the builing code complaince in wheaton she said its going to be very hard for u to prove he retaliated against  you but she said she called and told what was going on why she did that is beyond me she should be on our side here.  phone records will prove that she called and later that night we were hit with the 5 day notice……the owneralso said we movedin after my fiance moved in..not true……my daughter has gone to this school from day one and i was unable to be listed on the lease due to my lack of income so they would list my fiance on there…..but the manager of the buislind walked us right over tothe school which is on the pta at lowell elementary school……….i guess he wasnt supposed to rent a one bedroom with 3 ppl….but he did, we all moved in on the sameday.
