carpet flooded
By chrism
So here is the situation that I have just got into. Me and my wife have now lived at this new apt for about 5 months now and about 2 days ago the washer that the apt supplied busted a line flooding my bedroom hall bathroom and living room half way. They got a guy in to extract the water and put fans to dry the carpet out but the pad is a very basic pad and the carpet and pad has now started to smell. Also what options do I have if they refuse to remove the pad/carpet that is still currently wet due to to no dehumidifier. Along with this all our cloths and items in the rooms are now damp due to no ventalation. What are my options and what can be done if the apt refuses to fix this issue.
Thanks
ChrisM

Hi Chris, Make sure that it wasn’t your fault that the washer was kept opened or in mistake happened this, the apartment landlord can also go ahead and collect the damage to the carpet, however now as you said it still stinks because of water moisture remaining in carpet, why not take the carpet and soke it in sunrise, in daytime. So all the smell and smell will go away. Ask your apartment owner that it was mistakenly water spilled not due to intention of doing it and also there is less ventilation in apartment, by which your cloths and other stuff are getting bad smell due to wet carpet condition. Let me know further details. Take care |
