Can my landlord ask for extra deposit after termination notice

Hi
My name is Arun Mathew and I live in a unit in a 4 plex home.The issue with my landlord started on last month June 01.
Earlier we have complained to our landlord that our bathroom tap was leaking and since it was not a emergency she kept a bucket under the basin.
On June 1 she suddenly came without any intimation with the plumber and after that without even intimating us she closed the water supply,We sent her a mail asking her if she has intentionally closed the supply for the repair (Note : The water supply was closed for all 4 units without any intimation and the water was shutdown for 2 hours).We came to know that she has intentionally closed the supply for repair work and so we sent a mail asking her to intimate us if she is doing such a act in future.
From that day she started harrassing us by sending mails bringing up other silly issues just to cover up her mistake.On June 5 she sent a notice that out rent and deposit will be increased and asked us to pay a extra 500 dollars as deposit,Already we have payed 1200 as deposit.
From that day I have been sending mails asking her for reasons for increasing the deposit and made many calls and left many voice mails,But I havent got any reply.
On July 1 I payed the increased rent ,But I dont want to pay the extra deposit without proper reason.On July 5 I got a mail asking for the payment of extra deposit and said she would be sending a eviction notice if I dont pay.
Again I replied to her mail asking for reason for extra deposit.As a reponse to my mail she gave a 60 days termination notice the next day.And after few hours she sent a mail saying that if I dont pay the deposit she would be sending a 3 days eviction notice.
My Questions are
1) Is this act considered as retaliatory act
2) Important : Anyway i am going to leave in 2 months ,Why should I pay the extra deposit.I have asked the same question
to her and I have not got any reply
Can you please advice me in this matter
